This month’s bonuses are pretty solid. I’d start with Chase $400, US Bank $500/$900/$1,500, and AMEX 35,000 MR. The requirements are fairly straightforward, and there are corresponding tiers for different funding levels. If you want an account for your own business use, Mercury is quite good; I’ve been using it myself as well.

Note that the deadlines for bank account opening bonus promotions may keep getting extended, so you can click the offer links to check whether a promotion has expired. Some opening bonuses have specific requirements; please click the detailed review for more information.

Chase Business Checking $500

The Chase Business Checking opening bonus has increased to $500/$400, and you only need to deposit $10,000/$2,000 and complete five qualifying account activities. It is relatively easy; if you do not have enough funds, the $400 tier is also a good choice. The offer expires on October 15.

To get the opening bonus, you need to deposit $10,000/$2,000 within 30 days and maintain it for at least 60 days. You also need to complete 5 qualifying account activities within 90 days. The easiest way is to make any five purchases with the linked debit card. Other eligible activities include using QuickDepositSM (mobile check deposit), ACH Credit, incoming or outgoing wire transfers, Chase Online Bill Pay, and Chase QuickAccept. Note in particular that Zelle does not count, and ACH Debit does not count either.

US Bank Business Checking $1,500

US Bank Business Checking currently offers up to a $1,500 opening bonus through the partnership link between US Bank and State Farm, and some non-State Farm users have already successfully received this offer. Compared with the previous public $400/$1,200 version, this round has higher bonuses. The deposit requirements are $5,000/$10,000/$25,000, and the offer expires on January 13, 2027.

This offer has three tiers:

  • Business Essentials: $500 bonus. Deposit $5,000 in New Money within 30 days of account opening and maintain it through the 60th day after account opening.
  • Gold Business Checking: $900 bonus. Deposit $10,000 in New Money within 30 days of account opening and maintain it through the 60th day after account opening.
  • Platinum Business Checking: $1,500 bonus. Deposit $25,000 in New Money within 30 days of account opening and maintain it through the 60th day after account opening.

All three tiers also require completing 6 qualifying account activities within 60 days of account opening. These include debit card purchases, ACH Credit, Wire Transfer, Zelle, US Bank Mobile Check Deposit, Bill Pay, etc. The easiest option is generally to complete a few debit card purchases.

Bank of America Business Checking $750

This account currently has a good opening bonus. Deposit $5,000/$15,000 within 30 days of account opening and maintain an average balance above $5,000/$15,000 for 60 days to receive a $400/$750 bonus. The highest tier is effectively a 5% bonus in 60 days, equivalent to an annualized rate of 30%!

BMO Business Checking $1,500

From now through February 1, 2027, open a new BMO business checking account online or at a BMO branch. After completing the requirements, you can receive a bonus of up to $1,500.

The bonus tiers are as follows:

  • $400 bonus: On the 30th day after account opening, the account balance must be at least $4,000; from day 31 through day 90, the account balance must remain at $4,000 or more at all times.
  • $750 bonus: On the 30th day after account opening, the account balance must be at least $25,000; from day 31 through day 90, the account balance must remain at $25,000 or more at all times.
  • $1,000 bonus: On the 30th day after account opening, the account balance must be at least $50,000; from day 31 through day 90, the account balance must remain at $50,000 or more at all times.
  • $1,500 bonus: On the 30th day after account opening, the account balance must be at least $100,000; from day 31 through day 90, the account balance must remain at $100,000 or more at all times.

Final notes

  • You will receive the bonus corresponding to the highest tier you qualify for.
  • Only available to customers opening this BMO business checking account for the first time; please refer to the bank’s official terms for the specific exclusions.

Wells Fargo Business Checking $825

Wells Fargo Business Checking is now offering a sign-up bonus of up to $825, and you only need to deposit at least $2,500 to get $400. The three tiers are deposits of $2,500/$10,000/$25,000, which can earn $400/$550/$825 bonuses respectively. The promotion expires on November 10.

To get the sign-up bonus, you need to deposit at least $2,500/$10,000/$25,000 within 30 days after account opening. Your account balance on day 30 after opening will determine the highest bonus tier you can qualify for, and you then need to maintain the corresponding balance through day 60 after account opening. You also need to complete 5 qualifying account activities within 60 days. The easiest way is simply to make any five purchases with the linked debit card. Other qualifying activities include Wells Fargo Bill Pay, as well as depositing funds via Wells Fargo Mobile, ATM, Branch Teller, ACH, or Wire. Note in particular that Zelle does not count, ACH or Wire transfers out do not count, and transfers between Wells Fargo accounts also do not count. This promotion is only for new Wells Fargo Business Checking customers. The same Business Entity or Business Owner can receive a Business Checking Bonus only once within 24 months. After all requirements are met, the bonus will generally post within 30 days after the end of the 60-day promotion period.

Capital One Business Checking $500

If you open a Capital One Business Checking account now, deposit $5,000 within 30 days, and maintain it for 60 days, you can also receive a $500 bonus. To avoid the monthly fee, you need to keep a $2,000 balance in the checking account.

In addition, you need to complete 10 qualifying account activities within 90 days, such as transfers or check deposits. If you really cannot complete them otherwise, just do a few more ACH transfers to non-Capital One accounts.

Make 10 qualifying electronic transactions within 90 days of account opening. Qualifying transactions only include electronic wire, electronic check deposit, electronic ACH and instant transfer (from non-Capital One accounts).

AMEX Business Checking 35,000

The sign-up bonus for AMEX Business Checking has now increased to 35,000 MR points. You need to deposit $5,000 within 30 days after account opening and then maintain it for 60 days. You also need to complete five account activities within 60 days of account opening. In addition, they have added business savings, which can offer 2.95% APY.

Mercury Business Checking $300

Here is one I personally use: Mercury Business Checking. The advantage is that you can open the account remotely without an SSN, though you do need an EIN and just need to provide your company registration information. The interface is very clean and user-friendly. It is especially suitable for cross-border trade businesses or startups. This account also has no monthly fee and no deposit requirement, which is very nice. The current sign-up bonus requires depositing $10,000 within 60 days and maintaining it for 30 days to receive a $300 bonus.

Grasshopper Business Checking $300

Grasshopper Innovator Business Checking now has a $300 sign-up bonus. The requirements are fairly simple: you only need to deposit $10,000 and maintain it for a period of time. No Direct Deposit is required, and you do not need to complete any debit card purchases. The promotion expires on October 31, and the promo code is Skala300. In addition, Grasshopper’s Innovator Money Market Savings currently earns 3.00% APY on balances above $25,000, and 1.55% below that.

To get the sign-up bonus, you need to deposit at least $10,000 in New Money within 30 days after account opening. Then, starting on day 31 after account opening through day 90, you need to maintain at least a $10,000 Average Daily Balance. After you meet the requirements, the bonus will be deposited into your account by the 15th day of the month following the month in which the final requirement is met. Also note the new-customer restriction: if you were an Owner or Authorized Signer on any Grasshopper Bank account within the past 12 months, you are not considered a new customer for this promotion. Each Business Owner or Authorized Signer can receive the $300 bonus only once, and if the account is closed within 150 days after opening, Grasshopper reserves the right to claw back the bonus.

Axos Business Checking $200

If you open an Axos Business Checking account now, you can get a bonus of up to $200. The promotion ends on January 31, 2027.

The requirements for the $200 bonus are relatively simple: you only need to maintain a $3,000 average daily balance for four months. However, this $200 is paid out as four $50 payments. You also need to keep the account open for 180 days.

About business bank accounts

In general, business bank account applications require an EIN, but in many cases you can use your SSN as the EIN and apply as a Sole Proprietor successfully. For detailed steps, see:

Business bank account bonuses are generally fairly easy to qualify for: you usually only need to deposit the specified amount, and Direct Deposit is not required, so they are pretty convenient. That said, I recommend first checking whether there are suitable sign-up bonuses for personal accounts, and then considering business bank account bonuses. Of course, if you already need a business account anyway, just pick one of the banks above that you like.
